Exemplary architectural splendor of the medieval times and an outstanding religious structure of the world, the Sun temple or Konark temple dates back to the thirteenth century during the rule of King Narasimhadeva. The entire temple is designed in the shape of a giant chariot carrying sun god across the heavens.
